From the the hard working hands of the master blender Don Pepin Garcia comes another winning cigar. The San Cristobal de la Habana Revelation Prophet is a great addition to their extended line of subsidiary brands and it boasts a classic Pepin profile. Like most of his blends the San Cristobal de la Habana Revelation is a bold and flavourful stick, coming in with a silky smooth and oily Sumatra wrapper that is sure to tingle the senses. The aroma that comes off of the stick is slightly peppery with a hint of coffee and dried cedar.

I snipped off the end with my Dupont guillotine and toasted the foot with my single flame torch. The cap came off beautifully and the draw was perfect; which also aided in the excellent smoke output. The initial notes were as I expected…full of flavour and boldness. Notes of molasses and strong espresso with a hint of cedar on the finish dominated the profile on the first few draws.

First third (1/3) – 25 min

A surprisingly long first third, but I wont complain given how delicious it was. The burn remained perfectly sharp and the smoke output stayed voluptuous throughout the third. The notes of molasses subsided and were replaced with a more smokey note of aged tobacco and anise seed. Overall and interesting and complex beginning.

Second Third (2/3) – 20 min

The second third had a similarly sharp burn with the same smoke output. The notes slightly changed but were overall the same as the previous third. The complexity subsided and the profile was primarily made up of flavours of coffee and aged tobacco. An interesting transition, but not to dramatic. An excellent third.

Final Third (3/3) – 15 min

The final third had to be the star of the show. I got that creamy/silky texture on my tongue and palate. The note of anise was gone and I tasted a noticeable, yet faint note of cedar on the finish. Overall the profile was made up of the same coffee note as the previous third but also a bitter chocolate which complimented it well. The only downside was that the cigar got slightly hot as I smoked it down to the final 3/4″.

Total Smoke Time: 1 h

The Verdict

Like I mentioned at the beginning of this review, the San Cristobal de la Habana Revelation Prophet is a great edition to the Pepin line of cigars. He has again done a great job of blending a complex and bold stick. Taking into account the great construction, draw, burn time, and flavours the San Cristobal de la Habana Revelation Prophet gets on the Leather Library 10-Point Stogie Scale a:
