Steven “The Cigar Prof” Umbrello has been a cigar and pipe smoker for over seven years and has made it his mission to learn as much about the industry as possible. Steven is  certified as a Consumer Tobacconist by Tobacco University by proving his knowledge of the luxury tobacco industry. Additionally, Steven is Director of the Toronto Cigar Club.

Steven currently serves as Managing Director at the Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technologies and is also an IEET Advisory Board member. He studied philosophy of science and technology at the University of Toronto and is currently a graduate student at the University of Edinburgh Law School. Steven also works as a policy coordinator for North America with the Global Healthspan Policy Institute where he is charged with the research and development of policy initiatives regarding biogerontology policy. His primary research focus is on the ethics and philosophy of emerging technologies.
